On display are various reservoirs from the Bredasdorp Basin, encompassing both conventional and unconventional (104m from 8 wells), representing multiple depositional environments from shallow marine deposits to basin floor fans. The cores tell the story of the tectonic phases associated with the evolution of the basin, from synrift to post-rift thermal subsidence (drift on-set phase), taking into account the influence and effect of burial history.

Moderators: Denise M. Cox, President, Storm Energy, Ltd. and AAPG President, and Stephanie Nwoko, Senior GeoModeler, Premier Oilfield Group

Join internationally recognized women and men in geoscience for an open discussion on how a globally diverse and knowledgeable workforce is transforming the petroleum industry. Increased global diversity from technical people of different cultural background, age, gender, and perspectives is facilitating a transformation and adding value to the petroleum industry. Global experience maximizes the exposure of new play concepts and the technology that can be applied to exploration, development of existing fields and re-development of mature reservoirs. An understanding of cultural similarities and differences also helps geoscientists more effectively communicate their ideas, lead multidisciplinary teams, and pursue dynamic careers in the petroleum industry. The panel will explore these themes and provide their perspectives on how a diverse workforce is affecting transformation and if there is an urgent need for more diversity in the petroleum industry. After the panel discussion, stay for a reception to network with geoscience researchers, petroleum technology experts, and industry leaders to diversify your portfolio of connections and transform your career.
